Seasons of the Ridge

From the soft blooms of misty spring to the hushed stillness of winter, Appalachia moves in rhythm with the land.” Seasons of the Ridge” is a sensory journey through the shifting moods, colors, and light of the mountain year – an artistic celebration of nature’s ever-changing beauty. This exhibition invites viewers to experience Appalachia through the eyes of its artists, with works inspired by the natural world. From sweeping landscapes to delicate botanical studies, each piece reflects the awe, reverence, and renewal found in the ridge’s seasonal transformations. Step into the cycle. Witness how each season leaves its mark – not just on the land, but in the hearts and hands of those who call it home.

Exhibition Run: August 1st – September 27th
Image Submission Deadline: May 16th – June 27th
Decision Notifications (sent via email): July 1st
Drop Off Deadline for Accepted Work: July 18th
Opening Reception: August 1st from 1-3 PM in the Gallery
Work Pick Up Deadline: October 18th

4. Upload images of up to ten (10) entries below. Multiple images of each entry are permissible for the purpose of showing fine details. Image submissions must be in .JPEG format.   Image submissions must be in .JPEG format. Image submissions should be 300ppi and no larger than 2400x3000 pixels.  Please name the file of each image that you are uploading with your last name and the title of the work, separated by an underscore. Example: "Lastname_Title". * Keep in mind that if your works are selected these are the images we use in our marketing and promotional materials, the better the photo is the more likely it is to be accepted and used to promote the exhibition! *
5. Be sure to include a title, medium, price, dimensions, and a brief description in the corresponding text boxes.
6. You will receive a confirmation e-mail from the Submittable service if your application has been received. If you do not receive a confirmation of receipt, please contact the gallery office at 304-256-6843 ext. 7329/7343 or gallery@tamarackwv.com.
7. Decision notifications will be distributed via Submittable by 07/10/2024. Appointments for drop-off for the accepted pieces can be scheduled here - Book time with Gallery.

Here are Tamarack Marketplace we are looking for new and exciting works to fill our consignment spaces. These spaces consist of areas in our Conference Center, Theatre Lobby, and various walls throughout our Retail areas where your work could have the chance to hang for a longer extension that our Gallery's exhibitions.

We are looking to obtain work that appeals to the Spring and Summer season of the Appalachian Mountains. This can be subjects ranging from the new blossoms of spring to the lush, green hills of summer, a memorable trip to the lake or an afternoon in the garden, or even nature's critters themselves celebrating their own joys of the season. Bring all your frames of the season for this chance to have your work featured in our extended collection!

This collection will run through the Spring & Summer months of 2026.
